Social Events

The Department hosts social events throughout the year, including monthly happy hours, a Winter Show, and a Summer BBQ.

Recruitment Weekend

Admitted students are invited to meet with department students and faculty to learn more about the Chemistry and Chemical Physics programs and life in New York City.

Student Organizations

In addition to the many student sponsored seminars and student planned events, graduate students in the Department of Chemistry have the opportunity to participate in a range of student lead organizations.

Graduate Awards

The Department gives annual awards and fellowships to graduate students for excellence in teaching and research. Included recognitions: Hammet Award, Pegram Award, Kathy Chen Fellowship, Arun Guthikonda Fellowship, and Jack Miller Teaching Award. 

Student-Led Seminars

The graduate students in Chemistry host several seminar series on topics from synthesis to physical chemistry.
