The study of physics at the molecular level is integral to research in the Department of Chemistry. Researchers utilize a wide variety of experimental techniques to study the structure, dynamics, and physical properties of everything from small molecules to biomacromolecular complexes, including but not limited to interfaces, surfaces, glasses, and polymers. The department is home to faculty that lead their fields in ultrafast spectroscopy, biophotonics, single-molecular conductance, solid-state NMR, and more.
