Directions

The Department of Chemistry is located on the Upper Morningside Campus and housed in Havemeyer Hall and Chandler Hall, with some research laboratories located in the Northwest Corner building. Columbia’s Morningside Campus is located between 114th St. and 120th St. on the West Side of Manhattan. The main entrance to the Department faces south and is located in Havemeyer Hall, which sits next to Mathematics, Dodge Fitness Center, and Uris Hall. Havemeyer is most easily accessed through the main campus entrances at 116th St., 117th St., or 120th St. and Broadway or Amsterdam Ave.

Public Transit: The closest subway stop is on the 1 train at 116th and Broadway. The campus is also a 15 minute walk from the B and C trains at 110th St. and Central Park West and the A, B, C, and D trains at 125th St. and Frederick Douglass Blvd., as well as a 20 minute walk from the 1, 2, and 3 trains at 96th St. and Broadway and the 2 and 3 trains at 110th St. and Lenox. The M4, M60, and M104 busses all make stops at both 116th St. and 120th St. and Broadway, and the M11 bus makes stops at both 116th St and 120th St and Amsterdam Ave.

By Car: Most visitors can find free street parking close to campus. The best areas to find parking are on 120th St. between Broadway and Amsterdam, and on Claremont Ave. or Riverside Drive, between 116th St. and Tiemann Place.
