Designing a High-Spin Superatom for Extended Structures

Abstract:
The tunability of superatomic clusters makes them an ideal building block for novel materials. In this talk, I will describe the design and synthesis of a high-spin superatom primed for use as a precursor to tunable materials. Multiple extended structures designed with this superatom will be showcased and discussed. These structures will provide the tools necessary to create tunable magnetic materials.
